Some English time at Global Wing we spend at the park nearby – At least once or twice a week children from Global Wing have outside English time.
Global Wingでの英語の時間は、近くの公園で過ごします – 少なくとも週に1～2回、Global Wingの子どもたちは外で英語の時間を過ごします。
Teachers made up different active games with some running, and tell the rules of the game in English. Children understand the rules and play the games. After it, there might be some free time at the park.
先生たちは、走ったりするアクティブなゲームを作り、そのルールを英語で伝えます。子どもたちはルールを理解し、ゲームを楽しみます。その後、公園でフリータイムをします。
Children usually have much energy they need to spend naturally during the day in some active games.
子どもたちは日中、アクティブな遊びで自然にエネルギーを消費します。
Outside they have more space to move and run freely. They have a little break from paper studying and see the world outside with trees and sky.
外に出ると、自由に動いたり、走ることができ、勉強から少し離れて、外の木々や空を眺めたりしています。
Some free running at the park on the air works good for children’s concentration in the classroom, because they spent some energy moving.
公園で自由に走り回ることは、教室での集中力アップに効果的です。
この日は粘土でみんなそれぞれに好きなものを作成しました♪
食べ物や動物、もうすぐハロウェインにちなんでジャックオーランタンを
作っているお友達もいました!(^^)!
中にはお友達と協力して１つの作品を作り上げている子たちもいて、
みんなで協力して、想像力＆創造力いっぱいの作品が出来上がりました☆
English alphabet is different and new for kids in Japan, so they need some time to learn it. Writing time is very helpful for it.
During these 30 minutes, children open their personal worksheets and do some writing tasks. Tasks are designed for different grades and focus on spelling the letters and words in English. Children practice to write English letters, words, and long sentences.
Teachers help kids during Writing time and give feedback to every student.
During one Writing time, a student usually completes 4 pages and one task of the day. Everyone goes at their own pace.
The task of the day is to find the given words between letters.
In the last 10 minutes of Writing time, the Global Wing teacher explains how to spell the given words and what they mean. Students repeat after the teacher to remember the word better.
Materials for Writing time are created by Global Wing staff.
夏休み最大のイベント「八尾アクトランド」！！
アクトランドに到着後、まずは流しそうめんを食べる用の
お箸と器を自分たちで作りました☆
ノコギリで竹を切る時は、大変な思いをしながらも
みんな先生の力も借りて最後までやり切っていました！！
自分たちで作った器とお箸とともに、
大自然の中で流しそうめんを楽しんだ後はお待ちかねの水遊び！！
水鉄砲だけでなくバケツやホースでも水を掛け合い、
びしゃびしゃになりながらも、とても楽しそうに遊んでいました☆
Besides English lessons with books and writing tasks, there is also “English time” in Global Wing. During this time children could play games, watch videos, and talk with the teacher – and all this is done in English.
The program could be various, the only rule is: that everyone speaks English during English time. So all the instructions are given in English.
This Thursday, we played a game with balls on English time. The rules were simple – to get the ball in the hole by rolling it.
There were 4 rounds:
1st round – two tables on both sides. If you get the ball in the hole – it’s 1 point;
2nd round – one table on one side – 3 points;
3rd round – two tables at both sides, but far away – 1 point
4th round – with no tables – 10 points.
Good for the brain
After all rounds, we had two winners – winners are cherished by everyone every time with applause, to keep a good team spirit between kids.
The deck is used to track the points.
About English time
Games in English could be a good break between studies, and they are important for children.
They listen – they understand – they are not afraid of English
